Letter to Parents

9 March 2020

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

A small number of Year 8 students have come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID 19 (a non-Daventry school student)  whilst playing rugby for Daventry RFU U13.

These families have been contacted by Public Health England (PHE) to inform them they     need to self-isolate for the next 14 days and follow the advice given. None of these students have confirmed cases at this point and are self-isolating as a precaution.

The school and PHE are in daily contact with the family to offer support, and we will be guided by the appropriate information released by PHE.

Please find the current guidance given to schools when a student has come into contact with a symptomatic student:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19

The academy will therefore remain open in line with Public Health England guidance. Children who are not showing symptoms of the virus, which include fever, cough and difficulty breathing, should attend school as normal.

Your support with this matter is be greatly appreciated, and together we can continue to ensure that we protect students where possible.

Yours sincerely

Simon Cox
